Why do you ask for my budget when I submit an enquiry?
One of the constants of my 25+ years in video production is that potential clients are often reluctant to say what their budget is.
I think it’s fair to say that almost everyone who gets in touch about a video production has some idea of how much they’re hoping to spend. I suspect many don’t give their budget because they’re hoping they may get some sort of bargain price, or perhaps they don’t have a lot of money to spend and feel embarrassed to nominate a figure they feel might be insulting to a producer.
The reality is that even something as simple as one person speaking to camera can have a hugely variable budget depending on the quality of the cameras (is a video camera ok or do you need a high fashion/cinematic look), whether you need makeup artist or not, how much extra lighting needs to be done, do we need special sound equipment, or an autocue… and so on.
I can work with you to make sure you get the best possible value for your budget. Sometimes just changing a single shot can shave hundreds of dollars off a production but, if your budget allows, we may be able to add the extra polish that will make your video stand head and shoulders above your competitors.
If you need help working out a realistic budget for your next video production, feel free to get in touch for a free, no obligation consultation. We’re happy to help.
